Man injured in Belfast assault

A man has been treated in hospital after he was assaulted in North Belfast last night.

A man has been treated in hospital after he was assaulted in North Belfast last night.

Police are appealing for information after the man, who is in his late 30s, was attacked by a number of people shortly after 10.45pm at Deerpark Road. At least one of the attackers was armed with a bat.

The man, who had been walking in the area close to Alliance Crescent before the assault, was taken to hospital with leg and head injuries.

However, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police are trying to establish a motive for the incident.
