A 24-year-old man is to appear in court this morning on charges relating to the death of Mr Thomas Brady in Rialto, Dublin, this month.

The man, who was arrested yesterday morning, was detained overnight at Kilmainham Garda station.

Mr Brady, a separated father of six, died as a result of several blows to the head, according to a post-mortem examination.

Gardaí later recovered a blunt instrument believed to have been used in the attack.

Originally from Rathfarnham, Mr Brady had been living with his daughter at a flat in Dolphin House, an estate in Rialto, for a few years.

His son discovered his body at about 8 p.m. on January 19th.

The man was taken to St James's Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
