Man in court over €1.2 million drugs haul

A Limerick man has appeared in court charged in connection with the seizure of drugs worth an estimated €1

A Limerick man has appeared in court charged in connection with the seizure of drugs worth an estimated €1.2 million over the weekend.

Mr Dominic Hickey (34) of The Mews, Ballysimon, Limerick, was charged at Limerick District Court of possession with intent of sale or supply of cocaine and cannabis resin on Friday, September 3rd.

He was arrested in connection with a haul of 50 kilos of cannabis resin, 10 kilos of cocaine and 500g of amphetamines. A stolen shotgun and ammunition were also recovered during follow-up searches over the weekend.

Mr Hickey was remanded in custody to reappear for a bail hearing at the same court tomorrow morning.
