Man hurt in west Belfast shooting

A man was being treated in hospital tonight after a shooting outside a bar in west Belfast.

A man was being treated in hospital tonight after a shooting outside a bar in west Belfast.

The victim is believed to have sustained a bullet wound to the leg. The incident occurred outside the public house in the Stewartstown Road at around 7pm. Sources said the attack occurred at the Laurel Glen bar.

Sinn Fein Assembly member Jennifer McCann described the incident as worrying.

"We are saying to people in the area to remain calm," the West Belfast MLA said. "Our thoughts are with the victim at this time and his relatives."
