Man hit by car in Cork dies

A man was killed in Cork early this morning after he was hit by a car.

A man was killed in Cork early this morning after he was hit by a car.

The man died on the N25 at Gortagousta, Carrigtwohill, at 2.30am. His remains was taken to Cork University Hospital

Gardaí in Cobh Garda station are investigating.

Meanwhile, gardaí investigating a crash in at Tullaghan, Co Leitrim on Tuesday have named the victim as as 26-year old Paul McCallig, Main Street, Dunkineely, Co Donegal.

Mr McCallig died when the car he was driving was in collision with an articulated truck. He was taken to Sligo General Hospital after the crash where he was treated in intensive care. However, he was pronounced dead on Tuesday night.
