Man held over Tipperary murder

A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a man’s body in Co Tipperary last night.

A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a man’s body in Co Tipperary last night.

The dead man, who was aged 56, was found at a house at Lacey Avenue, Templemore at about 10.40pm.

Gardaí have arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of murder and are holding him at at Templemore Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. He can be held for 24 hours.

The scene has been preserved pending a full Garda technical investigation. The man's body has been removed to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick where a post-mortem will be carried out later this evening by State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy.

Gardaí did not reveal how the man died.
