Man held over Sligo baby's death

Gardaí have made a further arrest in connection with the death of a seven-week old baby in a Sligo housing estate in August.

Gardaí have made a further arrest in connection with the death of a seven-week old baby in a Sligo housing estate in August.

A man (24) is being questioned at Sligo Garda station by detectives investigating the death of baby Shkira Farrell-Scanlon.

She was admitted to hospital on August 18th having been found with head injuries on the floor of her parents’ bedroom in the Cranmore estate.

A woman (26) held in relation to the incident was released overnight. A Garda spokesman said a file was being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
