A man was remanded in custody until Monday by Judge Frank O'Donnell at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on charges of beating another man with a hammer. Laurence Shevlin (28), of Champions Avenue, Dublin, pleaded guilty to assault and unlawful use of a hammer on Mr James Rock on August 23rd, 1998.
