A man in his late 20s has been arrested following the seizure of drugs in Dublin.

A man in his late 20s has been arrested following the seizure of drugs in Dublin.

The man was arrested after gardaí stopped and searched a van on the M1 at Lissenhall on Monday and uncovered 29kg of cannabis worth approximately €347,000.

The driver of the van, a Lithuanian national, was arrested and is being held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act at Swords Garda station.

He is expected to appear before Swords District Court today.

In a follow up search of a house in Tallaght, gardaí later discovered 40 cannabis plants worth €16,000 growing in an adapted area of an upstairs room of the house.
