Man held over drugs, gun seizure

A man in his late teens has been arrested after the discovery of cocaine and a firearm in Dublin.

A man in his late teens has been arrested after the discovery of cocaine and a firearm in Dublin.

The arrest was made following a search of two houses in the Inchicore area last night.

In one of the houses searched gardaí discovered cocaine with an estimated value of €20,000, an automatic pistol and a number of rounds of ammunition.

The man arrested is currently being held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Kevin Street Garda station.

Gardaí seized cocaine with an estimated value of €10,000 during the search of the second property. A woman in her teens was arrested at the scene but she was subsequently released.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
