A man (39) is being questioned today after gardaí discovered a gun and a number of rounds of ammunition during a search of a house in Dublin.

The house on Deasy’s Road in Ballyfermot was raided last night.

The man was arrested at the scene and is being held at Ballyfermot Garda station under Section 30 of Offences Against the State Act.

Meanwhile, gardaí from Kevin Street station discovered two shotguns, an amount of ammunition and balaclavas at Bushy Park in Rathfarnham, on Monday afternoon.

The items have been sent for forensic examination.

There were no arrests.
