Man held after woman dies at Ballybrack house

The death of a woman (57) in Ballybrack, Co Dublin, last night is being investigated by gardaí in Cabinteely.

The death of a woman (57) in Ballybrack, Co Dublin, last night is being investigated by gardaí in Cabinteely.

Gardaí were called to a house in the Willowvale area shortly after 7.30pm yesterday in response to a domestic incident.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor.

According to gardaí, a man (60) was arrested at the scene and is being held at Dún Laoghaire Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

A technical examination of the scene took place this morning, and a postmortem is being carried out at the City Morgue this evening to establish how the woman died.
