Irish police were continuing to question a man today after the discovery of more than €5 million worth of ecstasy tablets in a van stopped near Mountrath, Co Laois .

The find was made as part of an operation involving the Garda
National Drugs Unit.

The 31-year-old man was being interviewed by detectives in Cork.
 
Two men were released today after police uncovered a haul of heroin in
Dublin overnight. Police said documents had been submitted to the Director of
Public Prosecutions.
