A man who denied smuggling child pornography videos and magazines from the Netherlands was convicted within an hour by a Belfast jury last night. The Crown Court jury had heard that Ian Patrick Magill (49) had made one of the videos himself on the streets of Amsterdam in August 1995. Magill, of Wellington Park, Belfast, an official at the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, has previous convictions for child pornography. Heathrow customs officers found one tape in his camcorder.

Sentence was deferred until next month and Magill was freed on £1,000 bail.
