Man freed in Drogheda murder inquiry

Gardaí have freed a man (19) who was arrested yesterday in relation to a fatal attack in Co Louth on St Stephen's Day.

Gardaí have freed a man (19) who was arrested yesterday in relation to a fatal attack in Co Louth on St Stephen's Day.

Darren McKeown (29) died in hospital on Sunday following an incident at Rowan Heights in Drogheda on December 26 th.

The man was arrested yesterday morning and was being held at Drogheda Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act. He was freed today without charge.

Four men have already being questioned and released without charge. Files are to be sent to the Director of Prosecutions.
