A man arrested as part of the Garda anti-drugs "Operation Clean Street" took a heroin "deal" from his mouth to sell to an undercover officer, Dublin District Court heard yesterday.

Patrick McCann (45), Rutland Grove, Crumlin, Dublin, was not in court when the case against him for selling heroin was heard. The court was told he had made a statement admitting the offence and was released on bail. Judge Clare Leonard convicted him in his absence and issued a bench warrant to have him brought before the court for sentencing.
