Gardaí have identified a man whose body was found on a busy street in Dublin city centre last week.

The man, who was in his 40s, was found lying on the street at Camden Place last Thursday evening. It is understood he died of heart failure, and gardaí do not suspect foul play.

A Garda spokeswoman said the man's family came forward in response to an appeal issued yesterday and positively identified him.

Emergency services were alerted at about 5.30pm, at a time when the area was busy with shoppers and workers passing along nearby Camden Street. The man was pronounced dead on arrival at St James's Hospital.
