Man for court over Waterford murder

A 17-year-old youth is due in court today charged in connection with the death of a man in Waterford city.

A 17-year-old youth is due in court today charged in connection with the death of a man in Waterford city.

The body of Martin Brophy (22) was found in a derelict building on New Gate Street on May 21st.

It is believed he may have lain dead for up to 24 hours before his body was discovered.

A postmortem on Mr Brophy's body showed he had been assaulted.

The suspect is due to appear before Waterford District Court this morning.
