Man for court over Tyrone kidnapping

A man (35) will appear in court today charged with a "tiger kidnapping" of two Co Tyrone post office workers.

A man (35) will appear in court today charged with a "tiger kidnapping" of two Co Tyrone post office workers.

He faces two counts of unlawful imprisonment, armed robbery, kidnapping and hijacking following the incident on October 9th last year in Strabane.

Two women were held hostage for several hours at a flat in Main Street in the town before one victim was driven to Co Donegal and the other was taken to nearby Melmount Post Office.

She was eventually released after handing over a large sum of cash in a car park in the Republic.

The suspect is to appear at Dungannon Magistrates Court, Co Tyrone, this morning.
