A 20-year-old man has been charged in relation with the murder of Gerard Burnett (28) outside his home in Mulhuddart last week.

The man is due to appear in court later today.

A second man (18) arrested yesterday is still being held at Blanchardstown Garda station in relation to the incident.

Mr Burnett, a father of one, was killed after sustaining a large number of stab wounds during an altercation outside the front door of his house in the Castlecurragh Vale estate, Mulhuddart.

He was living with his partner and son at the house. Mr Burnett’s partner (22) fled with the couple’s three-year-old son from the house as the fatal attack began.
