A man in his late teens is expected to appear before a sitting of Blanchardstown District Court this morning  following a serious assault at Fortlawn Park in Blanchardstown on Saturday.

Gardaí said four men were sitting in a parked car at about 6.30am on Saturday when they were attacked by a group of men.

During the incident, a 21-year-old man who was in the car received serious head injuries. He was taken to Connolly hospital for treatment being being moved to Beaumont.

The car was stolen and later found on fire a short distance away at Sheepmore Green.

Three men in their late teens and early 20s were arrested. Two were later released without charge pending a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
