A man is expected in court this morning in connection with a firebomb attack on a major retail park in Belfast earlier this month.

The man (22) was charged the day after being arrested for questioning about an attack on November 1st that caused serious damage at the Shane Retail Park in the Boucher Road.

He was charged with causing an explosion likely to endanger life and is expected to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court in the morning.

Dissident republicans have been accused with being behind the attack on the Homebase store from which 70 staff had to flee.

The Homebase shop was destroyed, and a nearby toy shop badly damaged despite the efforts of more than 70 firefighters sent to tackle the blaze.
