Man fined over road block

A MAN who took part in a road block in support of the Orangemen's stand off at Drumcree has been fined £150

A MAN who took part in a road block in support of the Orangemen's stand off at Drumcree has been fined £150. Douglas Arnold Gillis (32), of Queen's Avenue, Cookstown, was also bound over for two years on personal bail of £150 when he admitted a charge of obstructing traffic.

Mr Clive Connell, prosecuting, told Cookstown Magistrates Court yesterday that Mr Gillis was one of 12 men manning a road block at a junction on the outskirts of Cookstown on July 8th last year. Mr Gillis was seen by the police to be carrying two car tyres and a petrol container.
