A 32 year old Longford electrician has been sent for trial at Armagh Crown Court next month accused of causing grievous bodily harm to a husband and wife through reckless driving.

Mr Mervyn Shields, of Foynes Court, Longford, was freed on bail pending the hearing, when he appeared at committal proceedings in Armagh Magistrates Court yesterday.

The charges arise out of a crash at Umgola, on the Armagh Monaghan road, in December.
