A man (27) drowned yesterday after swimming near Bangor Erris in north Mayo.
The man, who was accompanied by his girlfriend, had been taking a dip in a remote mountain lake.
The missing man was named locally as Alan McNeilly from Briska some miles from Bangor Erris.
Mr McNeilly had been swimming with his girlfriend, Charlene Barrett, in the late afternoon when he got into difficulties.
