One man has died and another has been seriously injured in a work-related accident in Mountmellick, Co Laois.
It is believed the two men were installing lights at a sports ground in the town shortly before 3pm this afternoon when the cherrypicker they were operating turned over.
Gardai have preserved the scene and an investigation by the Health and Safety Authority is underway.
