A 55-year-old Limerick man was killed this afternoon after being trapped behind a tracking machine while carrying out roadworks near Tipperary town just after 1 p.m.

A post mortem is due to take place tomorrow at Waterford Regional Hospital.

The Health and Safety Authority is investigating.

Meanwhile, a Wexford man died yesterday after his cherry-picker collapsed while he was carrying out annual maintenance work at the GAA grounds in Enniscorthy.
