A 20-year-old man died yesterday in an accident on the N3 at Donaghmoyne, near Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, at around 8 a.m. He was a passenger in the rear of a van, according to gardai.
Two other cars, a pick-up truck and a rigid cattle lorry were involved in the accident. Five people, including the deceased, were taken to Louth County Hospital. One of the injured was reported last night to be seriously ill.
