A man was knocked down and killed near Carrigaholt, Co Clare, yesterday afternoon. Gardai said the man, who was 65 and lived alone at Bella, Kilkee, Co Clare, was knocked down after walking out in front of a truck shortly after noon. The driver of the vehicle, also from the Kilkee area, was treated for shock.
A post-mortem will be carried out at Ennis General Hospital today.
