A man has died after being struck by a car in Co Longford yesterday.
Gardaí in Granard are investigating the incident in which a car hit the pedestrian (59) on the Drumlish to Mohill road at about 6.30pm outside Drumlish.
The victim's body has been taken to Mullingar hospital, and the road has been closed for examination.
