Man dies in Cork tractor crash

A 65-year-old farmer has died after his tractor overturned in west Cork overnight.

A 65-year-old farmer has died after his tractor overturned in west Cork overnight.

The man, who was last seen alive in Allihies village at about midnight, was found dead this morning on the Mine Road between Allihies and Urhan.

It is understood that the man's tractor left the road on a steep incline. He  was found trapped beneath the cab of the tractor  by a passing motorist at 9am this morning.

The body of the man, who was single,  has been removed to Cork University Hospital for a postmortem examination.

The tractor has been removed for a technical examination.
