Man dies in Co Monaghan crash

A man in his 40s has died in a single-vehicle crash in Co Monaghan this evening.

A man in his 40s has died in a single-vehicle crash in Co Monaghan this evening.

The crash happened in Golan, Tydavnet, at about 6.15pm.

The driver of a four-wheel-drive died at the scene after hitting a fence.

His body was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, Co Louth. His name has not yet been released.

A total of 15 people have died on the State's roads so far this year.
