Man dies after Liffey fall

A man in his 20s has died after falling into the River Liffey in Dublin last night.

A man in his 20s has died after falling into the River Liffey in Dublin last night.

The alarm was raised shortly before 11pm when the man fell in at Wellington Quay. He was rescued from the water at 11.30pm and taken to the Mater Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

In a separate incident another man, aged 26, also fell into the river in the Ormond Quay area.

He was later arrested for public order offences.
