A man in his 60s has died in hospital today following an accident at Ardrahan village in Co. Galway at about 7.30pm yesterday evening.
The man was struck by a vehicle as he attempted to cross the road. He was taken to University College Hospital in Galway where he died early this afternoon.
The vehicle failed to remain at the scene.
Gardaí wish to speak to the occupants of what is described as a white van, possibly a Volkswagen Caddy or similar and a black coloured car that were seen in the area at the time.
