Mr Gabriel Laurence Finegan (42), unemployed, was charged at a special court in Banbridge RUC station, Co Down, yesterday with murdering Margaret Biggerstaff at Laurencetown, Gilford, Co Down, on June 23rd. When arrested, charged and cautioned, according to an RUC detective sergeant, Finegan, from Castle View, Gilford, replied: "It was not my intention to murder Margaret or hurt her in any way".
Mr Finegan was granted legal aid and remanded in custody to appear at Lisburn Magistrates Court, sitting at The Maze on July 3rd.
