Separate investigations are being conducted by the Garda Síochána and the Health and Safety Authority following the death of a 28-year-old man in an incident at a workplace yesterday.

The deceased, from Clogherhead in Co Louth, is believed to have been crushed by machinery at Kilsaran Concrete, Piercestown, Dunboyne, Co Meath.

The incident happened at about 7.15am.

The man was taken by ambulance to Blanchardstown hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Inspectors from the Health and Safety Authority visited the premises yesterday.
