Two men are being questioned today in connection with a serious assault on a man in Co Clare last night.
The incident took place in the Heights area of O'Connell Street in Ennis shortly before midnight.
A 26-year-old man received head injuries in the attack and was transferred to Limerick Regional hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Two men aged 29 and 22 years of age are currently being questioned about the assault at Ennis Garda station.
