A Swords, Co Dublin, mad with 43 previous convictions, 28 of them for having no car insurance, was convicted yesterday of three more charges.
John Crosbie, of Castlegrange Green, Swords, had already been disqualified from driving for life when the offences occurred, Swords District Court was told. He admitted driving without insurance around the Swords area on October 16th and 22nd, and again last February 15th.
"This is an appalling record," said Judge Sean Delap, as he banned Crosbie for 50 years, fined him £2,000 and jailed him for 22 months.
