A Co Dublin man whose home was the subject of an attempted fire bombing early on Monday morning has claimed he knows the men behind the attack. Mr Joseph Kavanagh, from Shankill, also claims to have received more than 70 menacing calls on his mobile phone on the day of the incident.

Speaking on East Coast Radio yesterday, Mr Kavanagh said his family was being constantly intimidated by threats. He had been leaving his home on Monday when he saw two men whom he recognised approach in a car. One threw a petrol bomb at the house, but it landed in a neighbour's garden.

Mr Kavanagh said he gave full details to local gardai.
