A 26-year-old Co Dublin man has appeared in Kilmainham District Court charged in relation to the violent robbery last month of two elderly brothers in their house in Castlejordan, Co Meath.

Mr Christopher Doyle, St Finian's Grove, Lucan, was charged with serious assault causing harm under Section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Act. He was also charged with stealing £45 from the house. He was remanded in custody to appear at Tullamore District Court next Wednesday.

Mr Patrick Logan (81) died of a heart attack, and his brother Peter (83) was seriously injured, when they were attacked in their home on June 5th.
