An unemployed Tipperary man was remanded in custody today after he appeared in court charged with the murder of a father-of-one shot dead in a house in near Clonmel last Sunday.

Leigh Crowe (31), with an address at Elm Park, Clonmel, was charged with murdering Eoin Cahill at Carrick-on-Suir District Court this morning.

Mr Crowe made no response other than to confirm his identity.

Judge Terence Finn remanded Crowe in custody to appear at Clonmel District Court on April 11th next and approved an application for free legal aid.
