A man was charged with the murder of Co Tipperary cattle dealer Mr Danny Fanning at a special sitting of Cashel District Court yesterday evening.

Mr Ivor Sweetman (46) from Bawnlea Green, Jobstown, Tallaght, Dublin 24, was charged with the murder of Mr Fanning (73) at his home in Rosegreen, Cashel on February 6th.

He was arrested at 2.30 p.m. in Tallaght yesterday and brought directly to the courthouse in Cashel. He appeared before Judge Michael Patwell and was remanded in custody to appear before Youghal District Court today at 11 a.m.

He is the second man to be charged with the murder of Mr Fanning. In March, Mr Francis Palmer (26) from Foxborough Road, Lucan, Co Dublin, was charged in Cahir District Court with the murder.
