A judge remanded in custody a man who appeared at a special weekend sitting of the Magistrate’s Court in Derry charged with child sex abuse offences.

Christopher Martin McGuinness (46), Inishowen View, Greysteel, Co Derry, is alleged to have committed the offences over a five-year period starting in January 2007.

He is charged with intentionally causing a girl under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity, indecently assaulting her, intentionally touching her in a sexual manner and making and possessing indecent photographs of a child.
