Man charged with abusing children

A 47-year-old man was arrested yesterday and appeared in Kilmainham District Court on 45 charges of sexually abusing children. The west Dublin man was arrested by Det Garda Mary Murphy. After each charge, he replied: "Not guilty". He is charged with sexually assaulting five children, all under 13, between 1991 and 1994. Judge Gillian Hussey released him on his own bail of £500. She remanded him until Wednesday on condition that he sign on daily at Ballyfermot Garda station.
