A man has been charged in relation to a drugs seizure near Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan.
The 24-year-old man appeared before a special sitting of Cavan District Court yesterday evening and was remanded in custody until Friday, December 28 th.
During a planned surveillance operation by members of the Cavan/Monaghan Divisional Drugs Unit in a wooded area outside the town on Saturday afternoon, drugs with an estimated street value of over €320,000 were seized.
The haul contained around 30,000 ecstasy tablets worth €300,000 and three kilogrammes of cannabis, worth up to €21,000.
