A man has appeared in court in Limerick charged in connection with a fatal road crash in which a retired school teacher was killed.

Jason Gormley (38), Castleconnell, Co Limerick, appeared in Limerick District Court yesterday where he was charged with failing to report the collision at Ahabeg, Co Limerick, on October 4th.

Aidan Lawless (53) died after his car was involved in a collision with an SUV.

Mr Gormley was remanded in custody to appear via video link before the same court again on October 13th.
