A man has been charged with arson at a house in Boyle Co Roscommon where a five-year-old girl died.
John Lynch (33), of Church View, Boyle, Co Roscommon, appeared before Boyle District Court charged with arson at the house on Termon Road on October 3rd.
Gada Paul Kenny gave evidence of arresting Mr Lynch and charging him this morning.
The court heard that he replied: "I never intended for anyone to get hurt and I am deeply sorry."
Judge Geoffrey Browne remanded Mr Lynch in custody to appear before Harristown District Court tomorrow morning.
Mari Keane Connolly, who died in the Boyle fire, was buried last week.
