A man has appeared before a special sitting of Cavan District Court charged in connection with the death of a 21-year-old woman.
Brendan McGahern, 26, was charged with intentionally or recklessly causing serious harm to Amy Farrell at in the Swellan area of Cavan on Friday night.
Mr McGahern, whose address was given as Drumcarey, Corlismore, Co Cavan was denied bail and was remanded in custody at Castlerea Prison. He will appear before Harristown District Court on Friday.
