A retired farmer from Northern Ireland appeared before Drogheda District Court yesterday charged in relation to what the court heard was a hit and run accident on New Year's Day. Mr Patrick Conlon (71), of Fr McFadden Terrace, Creggan, Crossmaglen, Co Armagh, was charged with dangerous driving at Kilsaran, Co Louth, failing to stop after injuring someone and failing to keep his vehicle at the scene of an accident.

Judge Flann Brennan adjourned the case to Drogheda District Court on February 28th.
