Man beaten with batons in West Belfast attack

An man (18) is recovering in hospital from a head injury sustained in a West Belfast paramilitary-style attack.

An man (18) is recovering in hospital from a head injury sustained in a West Belfast paramilitary-style attack.

A PSNI spokesman said the man was with a group of others in an alleyway off Willowbank Park at around 9.00 p.m. last night when he was attacked.

The spokesman said  cars pulled up at both ends of the alley and a number of men got out.

The victim tried to run, but fell to the ground. His attackers then beat him with batons about the head and body before driving off.

There were no arrests.
